An invitation to ProSilva Ireland members and friends to this year’s Farm Woodland Forum meeting.

The Forum will be in Ireland and run jointly by AFBI and

Teagasc, with bookings and registration through AFBI. This is an excellent venue. Ballyhaise

is a fine Agricultural College which supplies most of the farm woodland and forestry skills

training in Ireland. It has good examples of various broadleaved woodland blocks and

agroforestry mixed in with 200 ha of grassland – plenty of interest for the field visit. The

second field visit will be to Loughgall in Northern Ireland.

The overall theme is: “Farm Woodlands-Education, Research and Policy”

though we will welcome the usual mix of diverse papers. The College has good teaching, meeting and eating facilities. There is no

accommodation on site but the nearby (4 miles) town of Cavan has good hotels and plenty

of eating/entertainment options.

A special conference rate has been agreed for the Cavan Crystal Hotel.
